Samantha Sue Banks
She was born in Beckley, WV on December 2, 1977 to Betty and Jimmy Banks.
Samantha grew up in Montcoal, WV where you could often find her on the community basketball court trying to keep up with her older brother and his friends. That love for basketball and competitive spirit only grew stronger with age. By Jr. High she led her team to win the county championship. By the time Samantha reached high school her name was well known all over the state for her outstanding athletic talent, especially in basketball. She was a proud alumnus of Marsh Fork where she sported #32 for her high school career.
Samantha moved to VA after earning her degree from WV Tech, where she worked several years in sales. Sam's outgoing, funny personality earned her top salesperson in her company while employed there. Sam loved her family and was especially proud of her nieces and nephews. She was an avid WVU fan and very proud of her WV roots.
Samantha is preceded in death by her father, James Banks Jr., and her grandparents, Pat and Goldie Banks and Helen and Earl Hendrix. She is survived by her mother, Betty Banks of Bolt, WV; her brother Michael Banks and wife Ericka of Pettry Bottom, WV; her twin sister Sabrina Trump and husband Danny of Bolt, WV, and sisters Sarah Williams and Savannah Banks, both of Bolt.
She is also survived by Monica Gregory and a host of friends, including lifelong childhood friend Chevon Linville Hall.
'The Lord is gracious, and full of compassion; slow to anger, and of great mercy.' (Psalm 145:8) With God's mercy, Samantha was saved during her last days on Earth. Although she will be dearly missed, the family takes comfort in knowing she is safe in the arms of our Lord.
