Robert Lee Lilly Obituary

Robert Lee Lilly, age 77, of Flat Top, WV passed away at Princeton Community Hospital on Wednesday, April 9, 2025.


Robert was the son of the late Freddie and Marie Bennett Lilly, and was born on August 12, 1947.


Robert graduated from Shady Spring High School Class of 1965. He was a US Army Veteran and retired after 34 years of service with General Motors in Flint, Michigan, returning to West Virginia, to become the 5th generation to live on the family farm.


His skills and enjoyments are too many to list.


Robert is survived by Debra, his wife of 50 years; his son Robert Jr. (Lora) of Colorado; daughter Delila (Arnyst) Lilly of Beckley; three grandsons, Robert III (Emerson) and Zach of Colorado, and David Farmer and companion Jaden Thompson of Flat Top; one great granddaughter Oakley of Colorado. David was his right arm on the farm.


His siblings, Phillis (Richard) Walker, Ernest, and Ronnie (Drema) Lilly; brothers-in-law, David (Annette) and John Harris. Numerous nieces and nephews also survive.


Graveside rites and burial will be held at the Lilly-Harris Cemetery on Woodland Road, (off of Moye-Lilly Road at Flat Top, WV) on Sunday, April 13, 2025 at 2 PM with Rev. Orville Setliff officiating.
