Raeford, NC - Richard Daniel Thacker, 58, passed away on 4/23/2025 in Raeford, NC after a short battle with cancer. Formerly of Oak Hill, WV. Born on August 10, 1966, in Man, West Virginia, to Grover and Arretta Thacker.

Richard's life was deeply rooted in family. He is survived by his beloved wife of nearly 24 years, Jennifer Thacker; son, Chris (Crystal) Thacker; daughter, Kiley Hayslett; sisters Gloria (Jim) Lester, Judy (Jim) Elswick, and Teresa(Esther) Thacker; brothers Perry Thacker and Brian (Carol) Thacker. His presence will also be missed by special friends Chad Neal and Tim Kelly.

He was preceded in death by his father Grover Thacker, mother Arretta Thacker; brother Grover Thacker Jr; sisters Gladys Cox, and Sandra Stewart; and nephew Jonathan "Jon Jon" Lester.

Those who knew Richard will remember him as someone who worked hard, loved deeply, and always had time for a friendly word. He was an avid deer hunter. Antiquing and visiting flea markets were favorite pastimes. His memory will live on through the many lives he touched.
