Gilbert, AZ - Nevada Cafego-Walter, 85, of Scottsdale, Arizona, passed away September 3, 2025 in Gilbert, AZ. She was born in Whipple, WV on December 22, 1939. Upon graduating from Dupont High School in Belle, WV, she enlisted in the US Marine Corps where she was a Clerk-Typist and basketball ace stationed at Parris Island, SC.
Nevada attended Arizona State University where she received both her Bachelor of Science '81 and Master's Degree '91. Her drive for higher education continued on and in 2007 she completed her Doctorate of Psychology at California Coast University.
Nevada was married to Michael Walter on October 24, 1992 in Sedona, AZ. She and Michael were married 31 years and enjoyed their beautiful home in the Scottsdale desert until his recent passing last October.
Nevada worked as a Social Worker, Business Manager and Realtor. She was passionate about animals, and for many years she volunteered at the Southwest Wildlife Sanctuary in Scottsdale, AZ. As a notorious cat-lover, she and Mike also adopted many feline friends over the years.
Nevada was always affectionately known as "Aunt Nevada." She doted on her extended family (including many nieces and nephews) over the years and was always there with kind words of support, tenderness, and thoughtful gifts. She is survived by a long list of family members and friends across the United States who will remember her with much love and affection.
