Mack Houston Ellison
Mack Houston Ellison, age 81, of Maple Fork, WV, passed away on Friday, January 10, 2020, at the Beckley VA Medical Center.
Born June 23, 1938, in Mount Hope, WV, he was the son of the late James Ellison and Chessie Hudson Ellison.
Mr. Ellison was a retired coal miner, and was a member of the UMWA. He was a member of Maple Fork Baptist Church, where he served as a deacon in the church. He was a US Army Veteran, and enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren.
Mr. Ellison was a graduate of Mount Hope High School, where he was a member of the football team.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brothers, Lloyd, Leroy, David and Junior Ellison; sisters Euline Edmonds and Jenny Coleman.
Those survivors left to cherish his memory include his loving wife Dorothy Davis Ellison; two sons, Mack Ellison Jr. of Stillwell, KS, and John David Ellison and wife Tina of Maple Fork; a daughter, Rose Ann Zink of Florida.
Brothers, George Ellison of Mount Hope, and Jerry Ellison and wife Charlotte of Beckley; sisters, Ruby Riley and her husband Dave of Beckley, Barbara Davis of Maple Fork.
Grandchildren, James Zink, Christopher Zink, Christopher Ellison, Chrystal Ellison, Richard Ellison, John Ellison II, Karen Ellison and Chris Vernicu; Ten great grandchildren also survive.
Funeral services will be conducted on Tuesday, January 14, 2020, at Maple Fork Baptist Church at 1 PM with Pastor Jim Bowyer officiating. Burial will follow at the Davis Cemetery at Maple Fork. Friends may visit with the family from 6 PM until 9 PM on Monday at the church. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers. What can I say about Mack I didn't see him enough. when I did see Mack & Dorothy may just when I come home from Alabama and When I got that hug from them. I felt home. I think Mack is getting one of them hugs from his lord. love you all. Love Rob and Mary
