Lewis Earl Halstead
Lewis Earl Halstead, age 79, of Nimitz, passed away on Wednesday, October 23, 2019 at Summers Nursing Center.
Born on November 9, 1939 in Otsego, WV, he was the son of the late Leroy B. Halstead and Violet Hensley Halstead.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Macie Burgess.
Those left to cherish his memory is his wife, Linda Sue Hatcher Halstead; his children, Roger Breeding and his wife, Kim, Leroy Halstead and his wife, Angelina, Lewis Wayne Halstead, Lewis Earl Halstead, Jr and his wife, Cindy, and Lori Bower and her husband, Lee; grandchildren, Amber and Haley Breeding, Samantha and Kate Halstead, Bradley and Ariane Halstead, and Austin and Michaela Bower; great-grandchildren, Aiden Bower, Macie, Joshua and Aria Halstead; sisters, Mary Farthing, Priscilla Boggs, and Jo Holmes; and many nieces and nephews.
Mr. Halstead loved farming and gardening. He raised cattle and was a beekeeper. He served in the United States Army and in the United States Navy having been stationed all over the world. Most of all, he loved and cherished his "grandkids."
The family will receive friends from 2:00-4:00 pm, Sunday, October 27, 2019 at Blue Ridge Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be held at 4:00 pm in the Chapel of Blue Ridge Funeral Home. Burial will follow in the Peace Garden of Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens.
Pallbearers honoring Mr. Halstead will be David Taylor, Harold Taylor, Roger Taylor, Austin Bower, Bradley Halstead and Nicholas Wiley.

Im sorry for your loss. I didn't know till it was to late for me to go. I was at train days and Beverly Ballenge told me. He was a great person And So is Linda I worked for them many years. I was just up there about
week ago. My prayers go up for all of you!
