Joyce Jean Alderman
Joyce Jean Alderman, age 82, of Rock Creek, WV passed away at Bowers Hospice House in Beckley on Thursday, November 7, 2019.
Born on April 15, 1937 at Rock Creek, she was the daughter of the late Clinton Dickens and Ruby Webb Dickens.
Mrs. Alderman was a homemaker, and a member of Rebecca Chapel at Rock Creek.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by brother, James Howard Dickens, and by sisters Margaret Hamm, Myrtle Linville, and Melba Swazea.
Those survivors left to cherish her memory include her husband of 65 years, James Conrad Alderman; her children, Debbie Rice and husband Bob of Beckley, and Kenneth Alderman and wife Sharon of Beaver; two brothers, Harry Dickens and wife Sherill of Beckley, and Charles Larry Dickens and wife Judy of Beckley; two sisters, Marie Miller and husband Arvel of Taylorsville, NC, and Judy Groft of Beaver; two grandchildren, Bobby Rice and Kaitlyn Alderman. Several nieces and nephews also survive.
Funeral service will be conducted at Rose and Quesenberry Peace Chapel in Beckley on Monday, November 11, 2019 at 1 PM with Rev. Gene Miller officiating. Burial will follow at the Miller Cemetery at Rock Creek, WV. Friends may visit with the family from 11AM until service time on Monday at the funeral home.
Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.

I was so saddened to hear of Joyce's passing. I spent a few days in the hospital back in 1982 with her and we never forgot each other. Always greeted each other with a hug. James and family you have our deepest sympathy.
