Beckley, WV - Joyce Ann Akers, age 67, of Beckley, West Virginia passed away on Wednesday, August 6, 2025. Born March 18, 1958 in Beckley, is the daughter of the late Fred Wills and Ethel Hylton Wills.


She was of the Christian faith and grew up attending the Church of God. Joyce loved cooking, crocheting, dogs and spending time with family, especially her grandchildren.


In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by a brother, John Wills.



Those left to cherish her memory included her loving husband of 50 years James Akers of Beckley, daughter Michelle Adkins and husband Ernie of Greenbrier County, son Kristopher Akers and wife Elaine of Sumter, SC; her siblings Fred Wills Jr of Sophia; Jacque Milam of Beckley, Ceretha Green of Midway, Keith Wills of Maple Fork, Debra McGraw and Kevin of Shady Spring; Grandchildren Sarah Walker, Kelsey Walker, Ashley Hylton, Damien Akers, Jackson, Madison and Paxton Adkins and many cousins, nieces, nephews and other extended family and friends.


A celebration of Joyce's life will be held at 1:00 pm on Saturday August 16, 2025 at Blue Ridge Funeral Home Chapel. Friends may gather with the family beginning at 12:00 pm.


Joyce will be laid to rest at Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens.

Friends and family will serve as pallbearers.
