Victor, WV - James Richard (Rick) Gullett, 73 formerly of Brenton, WV passed away on September 10, 2025, at the home of his brother Danny surrounded by family, friends, and his faithful golden retriever Charlie.

Rick was born October 23, 1951, in Welch, West Virginia. He was graduate of Baileysville High School and Wyoming County Vocational School. He retired from Ashland Gas and Exploration after 30 years of service.

He was preceded in death, by his parents Buford Gullett and Stella (Estep) Gullett, two sisters Nola Rose and Maggie Rasnake

Rick was an avid hunter and fisherman and loved the outdoors. Rick is probably fishing now in one of his favorite rivers. He was a lifelong fan of the West Virginia Mountaineers, and loved everything and to do with sports. Rick was a good man, always truthful, quiet-spoken and would do anything for his family and friends. Rick was recently saved and baptized into the Christian faith. He will truly be missed by those who knew and loved him

Rick is survived by his son Deric Gullett and wife Ashley, grandchildren Braxton, Levi, and Emma, his brother Danny Gullett and wife Becky and his longtime friend Cathy Lester.

A special thank you to palliative care Dr. David Adkins (CAMC) for going above and beyond with Rick's final wishes, CAMC Cancer Center, CAMC Memorial Nurses, Hospice of Southern West Virginia for their care and services. Last but not least a heartfelt thank you to Cathy Lester to being the faithful friend you are and being there until the end
