Helen Pearl Yeager Obituary

Summersville - Helen Pearl Yeager, 92, went home to be with her heavenly father on Friday, January 16, 2026.

She was the daughter of the late Lonzo and Dessie Gwinn Murphy and was born at Jettsville, March 21, 1933.

Helen loved floral gardening, working in the greenhouse, cooking and especially traveling. She had a huge heart when it came to family, children and helping those less fortunate.

She was also preceded in death by her husband of 73 years, Ralph Yeager; a daughter Shirley; sons, Michael I and Fred; a grandson, Jonathan; and a son-in-law Scotty Smith. Brothers, James, Harold and Alvan Murphy; sisters, Virginia Counts, Arbana Stanley and Rosalie Judy.

Surviving are sons, David Yeager (Margee) of Craigsville, Michael Yeager II (Kim) of Jacksonville, Florida; daughters, Dinah Deal (Ernie) of Summersville, Ellen Smith of Greenville, NC, and Marionette Yeager of Craigsville; 16 Grandchildren 36 Great Grandchildren; 1 Great-Great Granddaughter Oaklynn "Pearl".

Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. on Saturday, January 24th, at the Waters Funeral Chapel in Summersville, with Jarrod Billups officiating. Burial will follow at the End of the Trail Cemetery in Clintonville. Friends may call at the funeral chapel from 6 to 7 p.m. Friday evening.
