Georgia Irene Bower Pittman
Georgia Irene Bowyer Pittman, 88, of Maple Fork, changed to her eternal address in Heaven on June 13, 2019.
In addition to her parents, Emert and Macie Bowyer, she was also preceded in death by sisters, Gladys Bowyer Jachmowicz and Sarah Bowyer Williams; and brother, Owal Bowyer. Irene was the last surviving member of her family.
The love of her life and husband for almost 72 years, Herman Pittman, Sr. and her beloved sons, Herman Pittman, Jr. and Lewis Pittman were waiting for her in Heaven.
Irene was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother: Proverbs 31. She will be so greatly missed by her daughter and best friend, Dianna Pittman; granddaughter, Ann Thomas; grandson-in-love, Shane Thomas; great-grandson, Cade Thomas and daughter-in-love Patricia Pittman. Also, sister-in-love, Patsy Legg and family; brother-in-love, Benny Pittman and family, brother-in-love, William Addison and family, plus many nieces and nephews such as Wilda Archie and son, Brenda Turner, Guil Polland, Joy Shrewsberry, Linda Chapman, Jerry Bowyer and Jim Bowyer.
Irene enjoyed working in flowers, cooking and poem writing, having written award-winning poems. She most enjoyed time with family and friends like Adair and Johnnie Lynn Catlett and family, and Heidi Price.
Irene was affectionately known as Grandma at Soul Seeker Ministries. She loved the church and Pastor Shane Thomas. Please pray for those now left without an earthly angel named Irene.
Per her request open graveside services and burial will be conducted at Davis Cemetery at Maple Fork on Monday, June 17, 2019 at 11:00 am with Shane Thomas officiating. There will be no visitation.
