Ethel Judy Darnell Corbin
Born December 6, 1938 in Raleigh County, she was the daughter of the late John Eller and Pina Rosabelle Meadows Darnell.
She was a graduate of Spanishburg High School. Ethel worked in the food industry most of her life. Her loyal customers will remember her smiling face when she was at the Town & Country Drive Inn and the El Cid in Beckley. She always enjoyed working with people and making sure their service was everything they expected. While managing the Drive Inn, she met and married Robert L. Corbin. She moved to Elkins with Bob in 1984 and they had a wonderful life. While living in Elkins, she loved her neighbors on Yokum Street, and up until her death, she remained in contact with them. Due to declining health, they returned to Camp Creek in 2016 to live with their son Clyde. Ethel attended the Elkins Church of Nazarene. She was a loyal and devoted WVU fan, she loved those Mountaineers.
While Ethel's health permitted, she enjoyed bowling, and one of her specialties was her gardening and she also excelled at cooking for her family and friends.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Robert L. Corbin; Seven siblings, Richard, Ralph, Vernon, Elijah Darnell, Marie Jones, Grace Hensley and Georgia Ann Darnell.
Those left to cherish her memory, are her two devoted sons, Clyde "Bugsy" Norman and his companion, Nancy King, and Michael Keith Norman and wife Lori; Four grandchildren, Joseph Norman and wife Andria, Zachary Norman and wife Angie, Miranda Norman and Sloan Norman; Five great-grandchildren, Elijah, Baleigh, Mia, Montana and Vivian; Three siblings, Nellie Shrader, Mary Maxey and husband Kermit and Jean Richmond; Several nieces and nephews who dearly loved her.
