Elese Delores Holley Harris
Elese Delores Holley Harris was born on January 30, 1930 to Elbert and Edna Clark Holley in Hiawatha, West Virginia.
While growing up in Mercer County, Elese was adored by her parents, friends, and neighbors. She graduated from Bluestone High School in 1948.
Elese was called home to her Heavenly Father on January 14, 2020. Her love for God and church was always important to her. She was raised in church and was a member of the Giatto Missionary Baptist Church for over 30 years where she was the church clerk, devoted member of the senior choir, and youth advisor.
After moving to Beckley, she joined the Morning Star Missionary Baptist Church in Skelton. She always felt blessed to be part of the Morning Star family. Elese was an active member and corresponding secretary of the West Virginia Baptist State Chorus until her death.
Elese was known as a fabulous cook. She specialized in baking delicious cakes and making homemade rolls and biscuits that would melt in your mouth. She was a great conversationalist and could talk for hours about her life experiences. Elese enjoyed traveling and was proud to have visited many places across the United States.
Her role as mother, grandmother and great grandmother was her main focus in life and she was always so happy when family visited her.
Elese was preceded in death by her parents, her beloved husband of 41 years, Berkley A. Harris and her "big" brother, Harry Pryor.
She is survived by her daughters, Berkley Hopkins of Princeton, Margaret Fields (Stan) of Maineville, Ohio, Kathy Sue Heartwell (George) of Princeton, and Anita Foxx of Cincinnati, Ohio; and her son, Carl Harris (Terri) of Gainesville, Florida. She leaves to cherish her memory her grandchildren Shawn Harris, Laura (Annie) Hopkins, Leslie Hopkins, Kenny Foxx, Jr. and Carl Harris, Jr.; her great grandchildren Jade, Ezekiel, Kenneth III, Alaina, Robert (R.J.) and Christian; a nephew Robert Harris and a host of special friends.
A Celebration of Elese's Life will be conducted at 2:00 PM, Friday, January 17, 2020 at the George W. Seaver Chapel of Seaver Funeral Home in Princeton with Rev. Charles Gore officiating. Burial will follow at Restlawn Memorial Gardens in Littlesburg, WV.
Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
Friends may call at the funeral home from 1:00PM until the service hour on Friday.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Morning Star Missionary Baptist Church, 105 Tolley Dr., Beckley, WV 25801.

To my dear friends: Berkley, Margaret, Kathy, Anita and Carl; and to the entire family of one of the most kind-hearted persons I have ever had the pleasure to know--I extend my deepest sympathies . Ms. Elease was a woman of God, a Prayer warrior, wife mother, grandmother, great grandmother, a friend to the friendless, mother to the motherless, a great encourager to me all the time---whenever I would see her it was in the house of the Lord. I will never forget her--such a down to earth person, never putting on airs, just being herself. I LOVE YOU MS. ELEASE. SLEEP ON SWEET PRINCESS---I'LL SEE YOU WHEN I GET THERE. I leave you with these words from The New Testament the Gospel according to... John 14: 1-3 " Let not your heart be troubled, ye believe in God, believe also in me. In my Fathers house are many mansions; if it were not so I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you, and if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am there you may be also." Respectively and humbly submitted, CHRIST LOVES YOU MINISTRIES, ROANOKE VA, CONNIE E. GAMMON, PASTORRead more

My greatest and heartfelt condolences to the family of a beautiful and wonderful person Mrs. Elese was there for me when I had my first child and opened up her heart and home to Robert and I. She was kind and compassionate to us when no one else was. Rest in peace beautiful lady until you hear the trumpet and voice of Jesus raising you up in the air to be with Him forever. I know you have joined your friends in the bosom of Jesus Christ awaiting that great day. In eternal love to you forever Rose Mary & Robb Miller (Tisha and Kevin).
