Smyrna, Tennessee - On Thursday, January 29, 2026, Donald Sniadowski, loving husband, father, and "Pop-Pop," passed away at his home in Smyrna, Tennessee at the age of 69. His passing has made an immeasurable impact on those who loved him.
Don was born in Wilmington, Delaware on August 24, 1956, to Frances Ann Callahan and Edward Francis Sniadowski Sr. Growing up in a Catholic household, Don shared his childhood with his 2 older siblings, Linda Sinkes and Edward Francis Jr., and his younger brother, Andrew Francis. Don had an interest in cooking and would often help his mother cook evening meals and also watched Julia Child "The French Chef" on PBS.
In school, Don received a well-rounded Catholic education starting at Holy Angels School in Newark, Delaware all through St. Mark's High School in Wilmington, Delaware, as well as being involved in several extracurricular activities such as basketball, wrestling, marching band, and concert band.
After attending the University of Delaware, Don continued to work for Marriott International/ Host Marriott Services for 38 years as a restaurant manager and The Cracker Barrel Old Country Store for over 16 years doing what he does best, serving people.
He met and fell in love with Susan Potts. They were married on April 22, 1989, in Wilmington, Delaware and over their 36 years of marriage, they created a beautiful family with their son Patrick, and their twin daughters, Katherine and Julie. The family spent 17 memorable years in Beckley, West Virginia. Don became a "Pop-Pop" to Theodore "Teddy" Donald, son of Patrick and his wife Andrea, on August 24, 2024.
Throughout his life, Don was always the life of the party. Whether it was a family gathering, on the patio with neighbors and friends, or at the beach, Don showed his love through the time he spent with people and the food he made.
He is preceded in death by his father Edward, his mother Frances, his sister Linda, and his brother Edward.
He is survived by his wife Susan, his son and daughter-in-law, Patrick and Andrea, his grandson, Theodore "Teddy", his daughter, Katherine, his daughter and her partner, Julie and Billy You, his brother and sister-in-law, Andrew and Mary, his niece and her fiancé, Amanda and Ryan Yansick, his nephew, Andrew, his niece and her husband, Christine and William Cintron and their son Emanuel.
A memorial service will be held in Beckley, WV on Saturday, February 21, 2026, at Beckley Presbyterian Church. A visitation for family and friends will be held from 10:30 am until 11:30 am with the memorial service immediately following.
