Charleston, SC - Donald "Donnie" Eugene Almond, 92, of Charleston, SC, passed away on Friday, April 25, 2025, at Veterans Victory House in Walterboro, SC.
Donnie was born on November 10, 1932, in Sullivan, WV and was a son to the late Jennie (Sheets) Almond and Levi Almond.
Donnie was a proud US Air Force Veteran and was known for his sly smile, corny jokes, and unending optimism. A man like no other and genuinely a good soul. He loved the Lord and making people laugh. He was a family man to a fault. His incredible faith, steadfast love, obedience to God and His Word served as an example that will last a lifetime. He was a son, brother, cousin, father, uncle, grandfather, great-grandfather, friend, and pal.
The family will receive friends on Saturday, June 14, 2025, from 10:00-11:00 am at James Island Baptist Church, 2023 Wappoo Drive, Charleston, SC 29412.
The Celebration of Life service will be held at 11:00 am, also at James Island Baptist Church. Burial will follow at 2:00 pm at Live Oak Memorial Gardens, 3093 Ashley River Road, Charleston, SC 29414.
