Courtney Marie Whitt Obituary

Birmingham, AL - Courtney Marie Whitt, affectionately known as "Buppie" by her family, passed away on July 13, 2026, at the age of 47.


A graduate of Shady Spring High School, Courtney continued her education at Beckley College, where she studied social work. She had a creative spirit and found joy in the arts, especially cooking and drawing. Whether creating something with her hands or sharing a meal with those she loved, Courtney expressed herself through kindness and creativity.


Above all, Courtney loved her family. They were always close to her heart, and the love she had for her children, grandchildren, and those closest to her was immeasurable. She will be remembered for the special bond she shared with her family and the memories they will forever cherish.


Courtney is survived by her father, Jerry Whitt, and Susan Weaver; her daughter, Kenley Garrison, and son, Brenton Maroney; her partner, Chris Maroney; her brother, Jerry Whitt Jr. (Angela); her sister, Kati Deason (David); her uncle, Richard Whitt; her beloved grandchildren, Nolan and Kimmy; and her nephews, along with her uncles and many other extended family members and friends who will miss her dearly.


She was preceded in death by her mother, Beverly Whitt; her aunt, Marilyn Wade; and her grandmother, Tennie Whitt.


In accordance with Courtney's wishes, no services are scheduled at this time.


The family asks that you keep Courtney's children, Kenley and Brenton, in your thoughts and prayers during this difficult time. Your love, support, and kindness are deeply appreciated.
