Virginia's Story

Text size

Virginia Carol Sizemore, age 71, of Cool Ridge, WV, went home to be with her Lord at Beckley Appalachian Regional Hospital on Friday, December 8, 2017, after a long and courageous battle with cancer.
Born on January 17, 1946, at Cool Ridge, she was the daughter of Genevieve Meadows Farley of Cool Ridge and the late Zina Farley.
Mrs. Sizemore was retired from the Beckley VA Medical Center as an LPN. She was a member of Grace Primitive Baptist Church at Shady Spring. Her hobbies included sewing, crocheting, and gardening. Mrs. Sizemore would donate the afghans that she made to sick or needy children as a gesture of love. She also gave them to family members and friends.
She always wanted each day to be a blessing to others, and never wanted an opportunity to be a blessing to pass her by. Mrs. Sizemore was a gracious, thoughtful, and compassionate woman who truly demonstrated her Christian values.
In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by a brother, Ricky Dean Farley, and a sister, Linda Sue Smith.
Those survivors left to cherish her memory include her husband of 54 years, Lewis Wetzel Sizemore; her children, Steven Louis Sizemore of Cool Ridge, and Donna Sizemore and fiance Michael Mullens of Snow Camp, NC; three grandchildren, Tyler Matthew Sizemore, and wife Ashley Grace Sizemore, Joshua Kyle Sizemore, and Cody Andrew Sizemore. A great grandchild, Ella Grace Sizemore.
Brothers, Charles Farley, Roger Farley, and David Farley, all of Cool Ridge. Two Sisters, Rosemary Warman, and Brenda Cernuto, both of Cool Ridge.
Funeral services will be conducted at Rose and Quesenberry Funeral Home Shady Spring Chapel on Tuesday, December 12, 2017, at 2 PM with Elder Joe Blevins and Elder Keith Mills officiating. Burial will follow at the Hill Cemetery, located at Pipestem State Park, Pipestem, WV. Friends may visit with the family from 6 PM until 9 PM Monday at the funeral home.
