Shirley J. McKinney
Born July 27, 1936 in Lester, WV, she was the daughter of the late Otho Flint and Anna (Wood) Lewis.
Ms. McKinney was formerly a member of St. Andrews Episcopal Church, Mullens and was employed at Stratton's Inc. clothing store in Mullens during earlier years. She was a homemaker afterward, and enjoyed horses, her "varmints", hunting, and riding thru the mountains in earlier years with her "Babe".
Jeane was a loving and caring person dedicated to her family; always enjoyed cooking and baking wonderful meals and desserts for everyone. She knew no strangers and always had a kind word to say for all she met.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her late husband, Waymon McKinney and former husband, Richard R. "Detroit" Steele, Sr.
Survivors include a daughter, Debra Green and her husband, John of South Charleston; two sons, Richard Roland "Rick" Steele, Jr. of Mullens, and Russell Kevin "Rusty" Steele formerly of Covel; two brothers, George Ray Lewis and his Zenaida of Chula Vista, CA and Larry David Lewis of Erwin, TN; and one sister, Norma Johnson of Lincolnton, NC; and a host of nieces and nephews.
She will be sadly missed by her family and many friends. It was Jeane's wishes to be cremated.
