Ruth's Story

Ruth Janette Cooper Simmons, 99 years young, of Oak Hill, WV, left this life on Friday, February 9, 2018, to begin another with Jesus and her loved ones who have gone before.
Janette was the daughter of the late John and Hannah Arthur Cooper.
She was preceded in death by her husband Clarence and their only child, Shelby Jean, as well as siblings June Rappold, Hilda Bragg, Joyce Canterbury, John Thomas Cooper, Margaret J. Cooper, Nell Cooper, Garnet Cooper, Darrell Cooper and one un-named.
She is survived by sister Norma Cooper Meador of Knoxville, TN, and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins who loved her dearly.
Janette was blessed with many talents. At the age of 74 she began painting scenery of places she visited or a picture she saw in a book. She also was given the blessing of being able to write poetry and wrote many poems for siblings and friends on different occasions.
Janette was a member of Mountain View Church of God and served as comedic speaker at church functions where she shared many of her life stories.
She was cherished by all who knew her and will be greatly missed by her family as well as special neighbors, church family and "her girls" Von, Jackie Sue, Karen and Darlene.
Services will be conducted Tuesday, February 13th, 2:00 pm at Mountain View Church of God, in Hilltop. Friends may call from 12:00 until time of service.
