Roger Thomas Elkins, 73, of Oak Hill, passed away on Friday, September 15, 2017.
Born August 11, 1944, in Sun, WV, to the late Ralph Elkins and Bertha Toney Elkins.
Roger enjoyed collecting old pictures especially of West Virginia. He also took walks and had a passion to lend a helping hand to anyone in the neighborhood that needed it. Roger also loved to tell jokes and tinkered with lawn mowers and TV's for repairs.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by brothers, Welsey and Chalmer Elkins.
Those left to cherish his memory include his loving wife for over 50 years, Ruby Smith Elkins; daughter, Linda Elkins Sexton and husband Jimmy of Oak Hill; grandchildren, Emily and Quinton Sexton; brothers, Charles Elkins of Michigan, Frank Elkins of Virginia; sisters, Virginia Brown of Michigan, Reva Vance of Michigan, Linda Crawford of Bradley, WV; also a special friend, Leroy Adkins of Sanger.
In keeping with Roger's final wishes he was cremated.
A memorial gathering to share memories of Roger will begin at 3pm Saturday, September 23, 2017 at the Mount Hope First Assembly of God. Pastor Jesse Parker will deliver scripture and eulogy.
