Robert  Crouch


Robert Wriston Crouch, 93, of Lanark, WV, went home to be with the Lord on Monday, April 15, 2019 at Bowers Hospice House in Beckley.
Born on March 3, 1926 in Beckley, he was the son of the late Lawrence Benjamin Crouch and Easter Edith Meadows Crouch.
Mr. Crouch was retired from Consolidated Coal Company as a coal miner at the age of 70. He also worked in the construction of Summersville Dam and started his working career for Beckley Ice Cream Company.
He was a member of Stanaford Missionary Baptist Church since January 5, 1975 (under pastorship of Rev. Phillip Lilly). Mr. Crouch was a member of the UMWA, loved working in his lawn mowing grass and traveling on the roads in the Blue Ridge Mountains.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister Pernie Smith; brothers Homer, Warren and Buford Crouch, and a special granddaughter, Michelle Rehm.
Those survivors left to cherish his memory include his wife of 67 years, Margaret Gillespie Crouch; two daughters, Robin Blankenship and husband James D. Blankenship, of Ripley, and Peggy Griffith and husband Keith of Shady Spring; one son, Robert Crouch and wife Dorothy of Piney View; a sister Jeanette Vest of Beckley; a granddaughter Caryn Tabor and husband Joshua, and three great grandchildren, Addison, Gunnar, and Sawyer Tabor.
A memorial service will be held at Rose and Quesenberry Peace Chapel in Beckley on Friday, April 19, 2019 at 3 p.m. with Rev. Delvin D. Elwell Jr. officiating. Friends may visit with the family from 1 p.m. until service time on Friday at the funeral home.
