Rev. Tommy's Story

Rev. Tommy C. Treadway, age 84, of Raleigh, WV, went home to be with the Lord, surrounded by his family, on Thursday, February 22, 2018, at Charleston Area Medical Center, Memorial Division. Born on November 26, 1933, at Beaver, WV, he was the son of the late Frank Treadway and Ollie Martin Treadway. Rev. Treadway was retired from the Raleigh County Board of Education, where he had served as a school bus driver. He had pastored many churches in the area, beginning with Leatherwood Baptist Church at Nimitz, and lastly at Open Bible Baptist Church in Beckley. He was also a painter and construction worker, and helped build East River Tunnel on Interstate 77. In addition to his parents, Rev. Treadway was preceded in death by his wife Mary Ann Treadway, by siblings, Bobby, Billy, Alta, Betty, and Mary Frances. Those survivors left to cherish his memory include his children, Robert Earl Treadway and his wife Sandy of Sophia, Tammy Lynn Mansfield and her husband Rocky of Pipestem, Thomas Matthew Treadway and his wife Lacy of Glen Morgan, and Christopher Lee Treadway and his wife Stacy of Daniels; six grandchildren, Ashley Treadway, Bobby Treadway, Brittany Dyer and her husband Chris, Kinsley, Kaden and Mitchell Treadway; a great granddaughter Lexi Lynn Dyer, a brother, Rupert Treadway and wife Phyllis of Arlington, Virginia. Many nieces and nephews also survive.
Funeral services will be conducted at Rose and Quesenberry Peace Chapel in Beckley on Tuesday, February 27, 2018, at noon with Pastor Cleve Allen, and Rev. Dallas Peyton officiating. Burial will follow at Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens at Prosperity, WV. Friends may visit with the family from 6 PM until 9 PM on Monday at the funeral home. Harold Mays, Rocky Mansfield, Chris Dyer, Stephen Worley, Rusty Mansfield, Butch Mansfield, John Yost, Jeffrey Yost, and Michael Mays will serve as pallbearers.
