Norma Ann James Long, 77, of Rupert passed away on Friday evening, October 6, 2017 at Charleston following a sudden illness.
Born November 9, 1939 at Richwood, she was the daughter of the late Alva E. and Bessie Spence James.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by a sister, Helen Bowen and three brothers Bill, Don, and Paul James.
Norma was a member of Big Clear Creek Baptist Church in Rupert. She worked at several sewing factories in Pence Springs, Summersville, and Rainelle for many years. She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren.
Survivors include her husband, Ralph Long of Rupert; a daughter, Kerri Flanagan and husband Kevin of Smoot; a son Jeffrey James, of Middlebourne, WV; 5 grandchildren Christopher Flanagan, Cara Flanagan, Jeffrey James Jr., Logan Stephenson, and Dakota James; 1 great granddaughter Maggie James; a sister, Jackie Miller and husband Bill of Troutman, NC; and many nieces and nephews.
Memorial service will be held October 29th at 2:00 PM at Big Clear Creek Baptist Church with Pastor Glen Kuhn officiating. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation in her memory to Big Clear Creek Baptist Church, PO Box 553, Rupert, WV 25984.
