Mrs. Willie Mae Freeman, 88, of Fayetteville, WV died Tuesday, November 14, 2017.
Born August 12, 1929 in Macon, MS, she was the daughter of the late Andrew and Allie B. Douglas Thomas.
Willie Mae was a homemaker and member of New Hope Baptist Church.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Freeman Jr.; sons, Yauncey and Quentin Freeman; brothers, James P, Andrew and John Thomas; sisters, Sallie Jordan, Mattie Ferrell, Bertha, Marjorie and Emma Lou Thomas.
Left to cherish precious memories are her children, Charles, Bryon, James, David and Charles Freeman, Sancerria Carroll, Wauketa Okoli, Aleta, Yolanda and Bettina Freeman and Walter Clay, all of Fayetteville; brother, Earnest Thomas of Ohio; sisters, Annie Mitchell of Florida, Erma Thomas of Ohio and Brenda Thomas of Oak Hill; eighteen grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
Willie Mae Freeman, known lovingly as "Flute" sowed into a multitude of lives and to many she was "Granny".
Funeral service will be 1:00pm Saturday, November 18, 2017 at Faith Tabernacle Church, 135 South Court St., Fayetteville, WV with Pastors Sancerria Carroll and Bryon Freeman officiating. Burial will follow in Greenwood Memorial Park, Beckley.
Friends may call one hour prior to the service at the church.
