Mrs. Parthenia's Story
Mrs. Parthenia Edmonds, 102, of Beckley, died Friday November 24, 2017.
Born December 23, 1914 in Martinsville, VA, she was the daughter of the late Jessie and Polly Ann Hairston Fountain Sr.
A member of First Baptist Church, Harper Heights, she was a 1935 graduate of Byrd Prillerman High School and a 1939 graduate of West Virginia State College.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Jerry Earl Edmonds Sr.; sons, Jerry II and Benjamin; siblings, Jessie Jr. "Speedy", Harry "Tot", Robert Sr. "Booker", Anna "Nehi", Lucinda "Boots", Dorcas, Frances, Benjamin and Maynard "Wee Wee".
Those left to cherish precious memories are her son, Timothy of Maryland; grandchildren, Jerry, III (Dorcel), Doron Adkins, Teesha, Tiffany, Vernita and Erica; many great-grandchildren; many great-great-grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Funeral service will be 12 Noon Friday, December 1, 2017 at New Hope Baptist Church, 305 Worley Road, Beckley with Rev. Thomas V. Moore, and Rev. Nathaniel Carey officiating. Burial will follow in Greenwood Memorial Park, Beckley.
Friends may call one hour prior to the service at the church.
