Maurice Wayne Jarrett, age 76, of Hinton, West Virginia, formerly of Beckley, went home to be with his Lord Jesus on October 11, 2017, at Bowers Hospice House following a short illness.
He has entered the doorway that has led him from this earthly life into the Heavenly eternal home; he is now a citizen of Heaven. God has planned his transition from the temporal into the eternal with such meticulous care.
Mr. Jarrett had formerly worked at Walmart for many years, after being a coal miner for over 15 years. He was a member of Cornerstone Freewill Baptist Church.
Born September 1, 1941, in Crab Orchard, West Virginia, he was the son of the late Hazel Marie Campbell Jarrett and the late James Fledger Jarrett, of Crab Orchard.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, an infant and Roger Lee Jarrett; and three sisters, Margaret Wiley, Retha Estep, and Margie Fernandes.
Those left to cherish his precious memory are his loving and loyal son, Maurice Jamesam Jarrett and wife, Jennifer, of Shady Spring, and a loving and loyal daughter, Crystal Charrese Arthur and husband, Mike, of Hinton; he was also survived by a daughter, Angie of West Virginia. Also left to cherish his memory are his two brothers, Robert Dane Jarrett and wife, Maryetta, of Crab Orchard, Charlie Mullins and wife, Daisy, of Beckley, West Virginia, and his sister, Ruth Cunningham of Sarcoxie, Missouri. He has eleven grandchildren who cherished and dearly loved him as well: Heather Epperly, Miranda Epperly, Levi Arthur, Destiny Arthur, Samuel Jarrett, Lisa Jarrett, David Jarrett, Lee Arthur, Jennifer Arthur, Justin Mullins, and Nikki. Also left to cherish his memory is a God-given woman whose comfort blessed him, Carol.
He immensely enjoyed the outdoors; fishing, boating, camping, and spending time with his family, grandchildren and friends. He was such a loving and devoted father and grandfather. His love for Jesus radiated throughout his life, for he was a proclaimer of the Word of God, the role model of his life.
Funeral services will be conducted at Rose and Quesenberry Peace Chapel in Beckley on Monday, October 16, 2017, at 12 pm with Pastor Roger Tolliver officiating. Burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Park at Beckley, West Virginia. Friends may visit with the family on Monday from 11 am to 12 pm at the funeral home. Pallbearers will be Dakota New, Samuel Jarrett, Daniel Richmond, Wayne Epperly, Bill Wiley, Sr., and Lee Arthur.
