Lyndia Robertson Rhodes, 72, of Meadow Bridge, went to be with the Lord Jesus Christ her Savior on Thursday, February 8, 2018, in the Appalachian Regional Hospital, Beckley, following a long illness.
Born May 14, 1945, in Alexandria, Virginia, she was the daughter of the late Doris Robertson Dixon.
Lyndia was a devoted homemaker, wife, mother and grandmother. She was even more devoted in her witness for Christ. Lyndia was known for handing out tracts everywhere she went. She was a member of the Meadow Bridge Missionary Baptist Church.
In addition to her mother, she is preceded in death by her brother Remo Lee "Butch" Robertson.
Lyndia is survived and forever loved by her devoted and loving husband Larry E. Rhodes; her five children Deborah Rhodes (Steve) of Columbus, Ohio, Melissa Sparks (Colin) of England, Teresa Work (John) of Mercer, Pennsylvania, Larry E. Rhodes, Jr., (Jan) of Meadow Bridge, and Rebecca Ann Rhodes of Beckley; 1 sister Gail Robertson of Stem, North Carolina; 5 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren; and a host of extended family and friends.
A memorial service will be 12:00 p.m. Monday, February 19, at Smathers Funeral Chapel, with Pastor Mike Whisman officiating, assisted by Pastor Roger Thornton, Jr. Burial of cremains will follow in the Patton Memorial Cemetery, Meadow Bridge, at a later date.
The family will receive friends one hour before the service from 11 a.m. - 12 p.m. at the funeral home.
