Lewis Denver "Dee" Blake, Jr., age 68, of Beckley, WV, passed away on Wednesday, November 22, 2017 at his home, surrounded by his loving family.
Born on November 24, 1948, in the Dry Hill area of Beckley, he was the son of the late Lewis Blake, Sr. and Beulah Mae Tyree Blake.
Mr. Blake was a retired electrician and was a former coal miner and carpenter. Dee loved hunting, camping and spending time with his family. He was an avid reader of western novels.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a step brother, Gary Leach.
Those survivors left to cherish his memory include his loving wife of 50 years, Rita Kay Bennett Blake; his children, Deanna Deavers and fiance', "Moose" Ahmed, Christopher Dee Blake of Charleston, WV, and Stefanie Cyrus and husband, Robbie, of Beckley; seven grandchildren, Zachary and Sydney Deavers, Farrah Ahmed, Emily and Jenna Blake, and Remington and Kayden Cyrus; a great grandchild, Tayegan Deavers; brother, Jimmy Blake, of Prosperity, two sisters, Janet Robertson of Oak Hill and Patty Edwards and husband, Mark, of Sprague.
A memorial gathering will be held at Rose and Quesenberry Peace Chapel in Beckley on Monday, November 27, 2017, from 6 PM until 8 PM.
