Leona Dempsey Mullins, age 90, of Ansted, passed away Saturday at Ansted Healthcare Center following a long history of Alzheimer's disease.
Leona was born January 21, 1927 in Jodie. She was the daughter of the late Fred and Myrtle Roop Dempsey. Leona was known for her hand made quilts. She was a lovely and sweet, and a Christian Mother to her children.
Other than her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Frank Mullins, Brothers; Doyle, Freddie and Leland Dempsey; Sisters; Thelma Fitzwater and Lois Lee. Also, a special grandson, Scott Allen Hunt.
Leona is survived by her daughters Judy (Buzz) Minter and Linda (Bill) Kious and son Dennis (Theresa) Mullins all of Ansted; one brother Lloyd (Anndra) Dempsey of Mt. Lookout.
7 Grandchildren and 9 Great Grandchildren and one on the way.
Funeral services will be conducted 2 PM, Thursday, January 4, 2018, at the Ansted Baptist Church in Ansted with Pastor Randy Spurgeon and Pastor Doug Eades officiating. Burial will follow in Restlawn Memory Gardens at Victor. Friends may call from 1 - 2 PM Thursday at the church.
