Lawrence "L.C." Clacy Garris

May 28, 1961 - December 19, 2018

Lawrence L.C. Clacy Garris L.C. passed away on Wed. Dec. 19 at home surrounded by family after a long illness.
Born May 28, 1961 on the north side of Chicago, Illinois he was the oldest child of Lawrence and Patricia Garris of Soak Creek, WV.
He was 57 years old.
He is survived by his parents Lawrence and Pat, and siblings Tammy and John Garris, niece Cheyenne Garris and partner Edmond Dalton, and great nephew Elijah Dalton.
He enjoyed riding his bicycle, boating, collecting Archie comic books, playing Frisbee, listening to music- especially Dwight Yoakum and The Monkees, and watching his favorite tv shows "The Incredible Hulk", "The Monkees", The Beverly Hillbillies", "The Andy Griffith Show", "Sanford and Son", and "Good Times", and taking rides in the car with family.
Special thanks to the staff of Appalachian Hospital, his doctors and nurses, home health aids and Hospice.
He is a human donor for the WV School of Osteopathic Medicine in Lewisburg, WV.
A Memorial Service for L.C. will be planned for the near future; there will be no funeral or visitation.

HEAVENS VERY SPECIAL CHILDREN
A meeting was held quite far from earth,
Its time again for another birth.
Said the angels to the Lord above,
This special child will need much love.

Their progress may be very slow,
Accomplishments they may not show.
And theyll require extra care
From the folks they meet down there.

They may not run or laugh or play,
Their thoughts may seem quite far away.
In many ways they wont adapt,
And theyll be known as Handicapped.

So lets be careful where theyre sent.
We want their lives to be content.
Please, Lord, find the parents who
Will do a special job for you.

They will not realize right away
The leading role they are asked to play.
But with this child sent from above
Comes stronger faith and richer love.

And soon theyll know the privilege given
In caring for their special gift from Heaven.
Their precious charge, so meek and mild,
Is heavens very special child.

He was my friend and pal we shared a very special handshake no one else knew. Always enjoyed my time with LC. He was one of a kind and will be sorely missed. He loved his uncle DoDo and Aunt Shawny and would always greet her with hugs and kisses. He even gave her one of his Archie Books to read and when she was done knew exactly where to put it back. Ooo Pizza, my favorite. There is a Special Place in Heaven for a very special boy. We Love you LC.
