Ivan Curtis Farley, age 84, of Daniels, WV, passed away at Plateau Medical Center in Oak Hill, WV, on Tuesday, January 23, 2018.
Born on September 19, 1933, at Ellison Ridge, he was the son of the late Burley Farley and Wavey Cox Farley.
Mr. Farley was a retired insurance agent for Nationwide Insurance with 33 years of service. He had attended Daniels Bible Church, and was a US Navy Veteran, serving in the Korean Conflict.
Mr. Farley was an avid West Virginia University Mountaineer fan and enjoyed fishing. He was the co-founder of Shady Spring Midget League Football in 1969, and had coached midget league for 13 years.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Rosetta Farley; a daughter, Debbie Farley; a son, Ivan Lee Farley; a granddaughter, Amy Diane Farley, and by sisters, Doris, Betty and Frances.
Those survivors left to cherish his memory include his children, Wayne Farley and wife, Machelle, of Daniels, David Farley and wife, Nereida, of Daniels; a daughter-in-law, Wendy Farley of Wayne, WV; two grandsons, Stephen Farley and Michael Farley, and two great grandchildren, Ashley Lynn Farley and Noah Ray Farley; a sister, Shirley Heath of Daniels.
Graveside rites and burial will be held at Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens at Prosperity, WV, on Thursday, January 25, 2018, at 2 PM with Rev. Troy Rackliffe officiating. There will be no visitation.
Arrangements are by Rose and Quesenberry Funeral Home, 1901 South Kanawha Street, Beckley, WV.
