Glenda Asenith McKinney, 75 years old of Herndon, West Virginia, went to be with our Lord on October 11th, 2017, after a long illness.
She is the loving wife of L. David McKinney for over 56 years and caring mother of one son, Dr. Rod McKinney and his fiancé of Cary, North Carolina.
She is the daughter of the late Alonzo Boyd and Virgie Ethel Bishop of Bud Mountain.
Glenda was a regular member of the Herndon United Methodist Church and made her career as a caring nurse. People who knew Glenda felt she brought a ray of kindness and love into their lives. She is the grandmother of two young men, Brandon McKinney of South Charleston and Tyler McKinney of Morgantown, West Virginia. She is the sister-in-law to Jon McKinney of Mullens.
Glenda is the youngest of seven siblings and is survived by John Bishop of Easton, Maryland, Charlotte Fish of Wiki Wachee Springs, Florida, Janice Clark of Herndon, West Virginia, and Gaye Palmer of Rehoboth Beach, Delaware.
She is preceded in death by David Bishop of Frankfort, Delaware and Loretta Clark of Herndon, West Virginia.
Glenda will be dearly missed by those whose lives she touched and she is at peace. God will welcome her into his arms in heaven.
Services will be 12 noon, Saturday, October 14, 2017 at Tankersley Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Ricky Pugalee officiating. Burial will follow in Roselawn Memorial Gardens, Princeton.
Friends may call one hour prior to services Saturday at the funeral home.
Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
