Glen Elwyn Horton, Sr., 79, of Green Sulphur Springs, passed away Friday, January 26, 2018, at the Memorial Division CAMC in Charleston following a long illness.
He was born May 27, 1938, at Winston-Salem, NC, a son of the late Roy Mack Horton and Juanita McNair Horton.
He was a father to many, a member of Lick Creek Baptist Church at Green Sulphur Springs and owned and operated a Produce Market.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Helen Jean Surbaugh Horton, in 1998; and a son Glen Elwyn Horton, Jr., on August 16, 2017.
Those left to cherish his memory are his companion of 16 years, Anice Brogan of Elton, WV; a son, Robert Horton of Woolwine; three grandchildren, Casey, Philip and Allison; two sisters, Ceil Ekhard of Florida, and Brenda Harmon of Virginia; and two brothers, Phil Vernon Horton of Florida.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, January 30, 2018, at 2:00 pm in the Fellowship Hall of the Lick Creek Baptist Church, with Rev. Tim Spencer officiating. Burial will follow in the Halliden Cemetery, Lick Creek Road, Green Sulphur Springs.
Friends and family will be received at the Lick Creek Baptist Church Fellowship Hall from 12:00 noon until time of the service on Tuesday.
