George Leroy 'Buck' Dishmon, 87, of Fairdale, WV, passed away on September 13, 2017.
Born on December 23, 1929, he was the oldest of six children of the late Clarence and Vennie Dishmon.
Besides his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Patty Dishmon; son, Ronnie Dishmon; daughter-in-law, Eugenia Dishmon; and brothers, Eddie Dishmon, Eugene Dishmon and Jimmy Dishmon.
Buck as he was affectionately known was an avid outdoorsman known for his fondness of ginsenging and turkey and deer hunting. He also loved talking about his coal mining career.
George is survived by daughters, Drema Russell and her husband, Tommy of Fairdale, WV, Brenda Tolliver and her husband, Pete of Prosperity, WV, Rosetta (Red) Lafferty and her husband, Donnie of Fairdale, WV; sons, James (Bruce) Dishmon of Glen Fork, WV and Terry Dishmon of Fairdale, WV; six grandchildren and seven great grandchildren. Other surviving family includes brothers, Kenneth Dishmon of Gonzales, LA and David Dishmon of Ravencliffe, WV. He is also survived by his special friend, Ella Mae Cook of Mullens, WV.
Pallbearers will be Patrick Dishmon, Donnie Lafferty, Layne Lafferty, Josh Morgan, Josh Brothers and Brian Johnson.
The family will receive friends on Monday, September 18, 2017 from 12 noon - 2 pm with the funeral service following at 2 pm at the Melton Mortuary in Beckley, WV, with Dr. Larry Halsey officiating. Burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Park in Beckley, WV.
