In the early morning hours on Friday, January 5, 2018, our loving son, brother, and uncle, Dwayne Nelson Shrewsberry, went to his eternal home.
Born June 4, 1977, in Beckley, he was the son of Janice Mae Farley McConahy of Cool Ridge, and the late Samuel Nelson Shrewsberry. Dwayne grew up in Ghent and made his home on Blue Jay Six Road in Cool Ridge. He worked at the Resort at Glade Springs, in Daniels, WV, for nearly 20 years. He was saved at Mary Jane Memorial Church at Streeter, WV. Dwayne loved to farm, go to livestock markets, and spend time with his family, especially his mother.
Dwayne is survived by his mother, Janice McConahy, and her husband Paul of Cool Ridge, sister, Pamela Bragg and husband Roger of Cool Ridge, and sister Cara Yoney and husband Kevin of Cool Ridge.
Three nephews, Roger and Ryan Bragg, and Kevin Yoney and his wife Zoey, and a niece Katie Yoney, all who thought he was the Greatest! He could make everyone laugh! Dwayne is also survived by his companion Scyanna Brooks, and her daughters, Emma, Mikayla, Kodie, and Abbi.
He was preceded in death by his father, Samuel Nelson Shrewsberry, paternal grandparents, Oscar and Ollie Shrewsberry, and maternal grandparents, Clint and Edna Farley.
Funeral services will be conducted at 3 PM on Tuesday, January 9, 2018, at Rose and Quesenberry Funeral Home Shady Spring Chapel, with Pastor Ernest Calfee Jr. officiating. Burial will follow at Tom
Lilly Cemetery at Ghent, WV. Friends may visit with the family from 1 PM until service time on Tuesday at the funeral home. Pallbearers will be Roger Bragg, Kevin Yoney, Roger Bragg II, Kevin Yoney II, Ryan Bragg, and Clinton Ratliff.
