Dortha's Story

On January 29, 2018, Dortha Maxine Wright Anderson met her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ face to face.
Born on March 13, 1926 at Beury Mountain, WV, she was the daughter of the late Wellington Steward and Annie Ethel Legg Wright. She was the 6th of 7 children, she was 91 years mighty.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by sons, Carl Stuart Anderson and James Edward Anderson; grandchildren, Melissa Faye Anderson, Martin Edward Anderson, David Lee Workman; great grandson, Troy Wayne Anderson; siblings Beulah Fern Adkins, Bessie May Bennett, Garnet Faye Wright, Jesse, Lake and Lawrence Wright.
During their marriage, The Andersons owned and operated several businesses including Anderson Resources, Sewell Mountain Construction and Midland Trail Campground. She was one of the founding members of Fayette County Landowners Association.
She is survived by her husband of 72 years, Ernest Anderson of Rainelle; daughters, Sharon Kay Childress and husband Dennis, Donna Allen and companion John Workman; grandchildren, Christina Fletcher, Donald Anderson, Anthony Anderson, JP Anderson, William Kelly Smith, Ann Adkins, Aaron Childress, Kristin Bennett, Kathy Blevins, Orland (BB) Allen, Jennifer Allen, Joseph Allen, Dennis Alan Workman, John Robert Workman, Jr, Jamie Hanshaw and Roy King, Jr.; brother, Gene Bennett and wife Olivene; daughters-in-law, Marta Anderson and Joyce Anderson.
We wish to acknowledge the excellent care given by Bowers Hospice House and Joyce Anderson.
Service will be 2:00 p.m., Sunday, February 4, 2018 at Wallace & Wallace Funeral Chapel, Rainelle with Brother John Keeling officiating. Burial will follow at Wallace Memorial Cemetery, Clintonville. Friends may gather with the family Saturday evening, 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home
