Doris Ann Shields Sullivan, age 78, of Daniels, WV, went to her Heavenly home, surrounded by her loving family on Thursday, March 8, 2018, at her home.
Born on December 1, 1939, in Kopperston, WV, she was the daughter of the late Thomas E. Sizemore and Lucille Beverly Sizemore.
Mrs. Sullivan was a homemaker and had attended Beaver United Methodist Church when health permitted. She had spent most of her adult life in Welch, WV, where she was a member of Anderson Memorial Presbyterian Church.
Mrs. Sullivan enjoyed Bible Study, singing in the church choir and was an avid reader.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Teddy Ray Shields; by two sons, Larry Ray Shields, and Tennis Randall Shields; by a daughter, Kay McVey, and by her brother, Douglas Edward Sizemore.
Those survivors left to cherish her memory include her husband, Glen Sullivan; a son, Timothy Sullivan and wife, Angel, of Pulaski, VA; four daughters, Rhonda Ann Breen and husband, Michael, of Tampa, Florida, Dana Ruth Thomas of Fayetteville, NC, Linda Carr and husband, Gerald, of Cool Ridge, WV, Wendy Fariss and husband, Michael, of Lynchburg, Virginia; a daughter-in-law, Freda Kay Shields, of Bluefield, WV; a brother, Thomas Sizemore and wife, Kathy, of The Villages, FL; three grandchildren, Melissa Proctor and husband, Dustin, of FL, William Ray Jones of Fayetteville, NC, and Thomas Shields and wife, Melissa, of Welch, WV; five great grandchildren, Jameson Jones, Conner Jones, Violet Proctor and Luke Proctor, all of Florida, and Jacob Jones of Fayetteville, NC.
Funeral services will be conducted at Rose and Quesenberry Peace Chapel in Beckley on Monday, March 12, 2018, at 1 PM, with Rev. David Rumberg officiating. Burial will follow at Palm Memorial Gardens at Matheny, WV.
Friends may visit with the family from 11:30 AM until service time on Monday at the funeral home.
Pallbearers will be Michael Breen, Thomas Shields, Jameson Jones,
Dustin Proctor, Conner Jones and Mike Fariss.
