Daisy Marie "Granny" Fitzwater, 97 of Victor, WV, passed away peacefully Monday, November 6, 2017, at the Bowers Hospice House in Beckley, surrounded by her family
Mrs. Fitzwater was born January 15, 1920 in Graydon, WV, to the late A.W. and Ida Jane Judy McGraw.
She was preceded in death by her husband Paul V. Fitzwater on January 4, 2001. She was also preceded by 3 sisters; Mabel Sandige, Nila McGraw and Mary Peacock, and 5 brothers; Harry McGraw, Ira McGraw, Herbert McGraw, George McGraw and Leslie McGraw.
She loved cooking and was a great cook. She loved cooking for family and friends. She was famous for her lemon meringue pies and her fried apple pies. She was a Homemaker, and a member of the Goodhope Baptist Church and attended the Victor United Methodist Church. She loved spending time with her family and reading her Bible.
Surviving her are, 2 daughters, Sharon Campbell of Victor and Shirley Justice and husband Bob of Elkview; 1 son Barry Fitzwater and wife Andrea of Mt. Lookout; 3 grandchildren, Amy Campbell, Matthew James Fitzwater and Paul Michael Fitzwater; 1 Honorary grandson, Randy Atkins. She is also survived by her cat Sam, whom she loved dearly.
Funeral services will be conducted 1 PM Thursday, November 9, 2017, at the Wallace & Wallace Funeral home in Ansted, with Pastor James P. Gray and Rev. Ozzie Gray officiating. Burial will follow in Restlawn Memory Gardens at Victor.
Friends may call from 6 - 8 PM Wednesday at the funeral home.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff of Bowers Hospice House for the care they provided. The family would also like to thank the numerous family and friends who have shown continuance support through our difficult time.
