Charles Ray Vance, 71, from Fayetteville, WV, passed away on February 10, 2018.
Born on November 10, 1946, at Montgomery.
Charles served in US Navy for 7.7 years as Radioman Petty Officer 2nd Class with tours in Vietnam. He retired from Elkem Metals with 40 years of service.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Virgil and Ramona Moss; father and mother-in-law, Jackson Lee and Bertha Carte; and uncles, Arnold Peterson and Marion Peterson.
Those left with fond memories is his loving wife of 43 years, Zenda Carte Vance; best buddy, Nike; aunt, Naomi Hager; several cousins; and Zenda's family in which became his family.
Funeral services will be held at 1 pm, Thursday, February 15, 2018 at Dodd-Payne-Hess Funeral Home, Fayetteville, WV, with Pastor Danny Goins and Rev. Tom Fife officiating. Burial will follow at Huse Memorial Park, Fayetteville with military graveside rites.
Family will serve as pallbearers.
The family will receive friends from 11 am to 1 pm at the funeral home on Thursday.
