Barbara's Story

Barbara Ellen (Bobbie) Cantley Asbury, passed away October 8, 2017 in Olmstead Falls, Ohio.
Bobbie was born at Rock Creek, West Virginia, January 8, 1929, the seventh of eleven children born to Hubert and Grace Lee Price Cantley.
She graduated Marsh Fork High School in 1946 and married Bill Asbury in August of 1946.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Bill, son Billy, her parents and siblings James, Eustace Glen, Eugene Keith, Hubert Jr, Doris Lee Dickens, Betty Lou Billings, Noel Dean, Ronald Bee, and Thelma May (Sugar) Brigulio.
She is survived by daughters Betty Jane of Cleveland, Ohio, Kathy Ann of Las Vegas, six grandsons, Jason and Kyle, one granddaughter, Katie, two great grandchildren, brother David Dee (Kay) of Lake Worth FL and many adoring nephews and nieces.
Bobbie and Bill spent the early years of their marriage in Edwight and Rock Creek, West Virginia. When coal died they moved to Cleveland where they lived for the remainder of their lives.
Bobbie was a member of the Pettus Baptist Church and was active in Rebecca Chapel when she lived at Rock Creek.
At the announcement of her death, accolades started pouring in on social media from nieces and nephews remembering how special Aunt Bobbie made them feel. She was known for her sense of humor and quick wit, never failing to let you know where she stood on any issue. When she and her sister, Betty, got together it was truly a comedy act. She was loved and will be missed by many family members and friends.
